Welcome Headbangers.....Issue #18 posted

Whoa, 18 issues. I have been putting this newsletter out this long? Cool.....Well, here goes the news, folks:
Iron Maiden is writing new material in Miami, Florida. A North American tour followed by a tour of Europe precedes the new album, due in 2000. Bruce Dickinsons next solo album is set be a live album, recorded this month. Maiden joins Megadeth for the European leg of the tour beginning September 9th in Paris.
Warrant is mixing a new album right now, with reports of the material sounding like the bands first two albums. The bands summer tour begins May 1st.
Former Saigon Kick singer/guitarist Jason Bielers new group Super Transatlantic has signed with Universal with an album due in June.Armored Saint is still scheduled to release a "reunion" album next year on Metal Blade. Dont get too excited kids, this is just for an album MOTORHEAD will perform at a benefit for Rock For Recovery and the Musicians' Assistance Program on Tuesday, April 20 at the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles, a show which will also feature BLACK SHEEP, JON E. Metal Will Always Rule, For those of us who Remember!
.BRUCE DICKINSON, in L.A. to rehearse with his solo band (which includes fellow IRON MAIDEN returnee ADRIAN SMITH) for a South American tour that begins next week, was on hand at Sunset Strip metal club Black Lodge on Wednesday night and played guest DJ toward the end of the night. He's already begun to work with Maiden on the beginnings of new material, and will get back into it upon his return from his solo tour at the end of the month. Happily reporting that Maiden fan club membership has doubled since the reunion was announced, Dickinson is looking forward Maiden's brief U.S. and European runs (just a dozen dates each, with MEGADETH supporting in Europe and a to-be-announced act in the States) this summer and fall respectively, which will be a taste of what's to come in 2000. There won't be a show ringing in the millennium on New Year's Eve--"With everyone else doing them it's a good reason for us not to," he says. But there will be an extensive world tour sometime next year, supporting a reunion record.
The Detroit Rock City soundtrack is coming together: aside from the four KISS tracks--"Dr. Love," "Shout it Out Loud," the new version of "Detroit Rock City," and new ballad "Nothing Can Keep Me From You"--MARILYN MANSON will cover AC/DC's "Highway to Hell," and THE DONNAS will record a new version of KISS' "Strutter" or "School Days" by THE RUNAWAYS. Plans are to shoot videos for all three and release them as singles, possibly simultaneously. The other songs on the soundtrack will be classic '70s tunes by the original artists. The movie will be released August 13, but the release date for the soundtrack hasn't yet been set.
